hi friends, this thread is for the words, phrases & proverbs that you dont hear too often in gujarati conversation these days but were once in common use only a few years ago, a lot of factors can be attributed for this like TV, Movies, Internet, mad rush for English medium academics etc., still we can share them whenever we recall them and make sure our Gujarati bhasha doesnt fade out with time and remains and lively and juicy as ever...

Following are some words to start with:

Pratiti(noun):

relaization, used when you realize something that you have been told or known to happen to someone

Prakash Paadvo(phrase)
describe something in detail, explain

Usage: tamari aa vat mane samjai nai, aana par jara prakash padsho...

Dwidha(noun)
confusion, dilemma

Usage:
abhyas puro thaya baad nokri karvi ke bapa no dhandha ma jodai javu e ange hu dwidha ma hato

Maghmaghtu(adjective)
Budding

Usage: bagicha ma praveshta j jui ne champa na phulo ni maghmagti sugandha avva lagi

Sodam(noun)
Flavor, smell

Usage: Manjula e jalebio talvani sharu kari ne ghee ni sodam ordaa ma prasarva lagi

Paalve
afford to

Usage: Thoda vadhare paisa mate aabru gumavvi e mane na paalve
